Academy Conversion

Governors are pleased to confirm that on the 1st December 2011, the school successfully converted to academy status.

Mr Ken Swanson, Chair of Governors, is pleased to confirm that the school has received an Academy Order from the Secretary of State for Education, enabling the school to convert to become an Academy.

The conversion process will take a few weeks and we will endeavour to make this as smooth as possible. During this time the Academy Working Party still welcome your comments via letter or email to msacademy@btinternet.com. Additional information, when available, will be placed on the school website.

There have been some problems this term with Parentmail which we think have now been resolved. However some parents may not have received any school correspondence through Parentmail this term. That is incorrect as letters have been sent out to all year groups. If you have not received anything through Parentmail except this email, please check the parents>recent letters section on our website or alternatively call at the office for back copies of letters. Open Mornings

"Our open mornings for children who are due to start school in September 2012 are at 09:30 on 10 October 2011 and 09:30 on 12 October 2011. Please feel free to join us on either morning at 09:30. You do not need an appointment. You will have the opportunity to meet our Headmaster, Mr Revell, who will give an introductory talk, and Mrs Perry, our Foundation Stage Phase Leader who will explain about our Reception Department. You will also be given a tour of our facilities by some of our Year 6 children. We look forward to meeting you then."

Process to convert to an Academy

Following an extensive consultation period, and after lengthy discussions, the Governing Body is delighted to announce the school will begin the process to convert to an academy.� It is estimated that this will take 3-4 months.� Ongoing information regarding the conversion will be uploaded to the website as and when appropriate.

Tennis Success

Our school recently took part in a Short Tennis Tournament for Stamford Primary Schools which was held at Queen Eleanor School on 8th March. Six schools accross the area took part in the tournament with two teams per school. We came 2nd and 3rd out of 12 matches. Congratulations to all who took part.

Congratulations to the school choir which took part in the Peterborough Music Festival on 24 March at The Cresset in Peterborough. Despite stiff competition from the other schools participating we were delighted to have been placed second with a distinction.

Dangerous Parking

The school has received complaints from the residents of Dickens Drive and other surrounding roads regarding parking. Some parents are not only parking dangerously, on junctions, but also are turning cars around in private driveways and damaging verges and plants.

The police have been notified of the parking problems and will be patrolling the areas to assist us.

SCHOOL CROSSING

We still require someone to assist with the school crossing just past Dickens Drive. The position is voluntary but full training would be given by the Lincolnshire County Council.

The Government guidance is 'No symptom, no problem'. We are being vigilant about the children's health in school but the government guidance is that unless they are showing signs of illness children should be in school.

Fly the Flag

Did you know your child can ‘Fly the Flag’ on his/her birthday?

They can hoist the flag at the front of school on the morning of their birthday to raise funds for the School Council projects.
