Safeguarding Children (CRB etc)

The school is very lucky that so many parents and friends help us enhance the children's school experience with projects, trips and classroom visits.  We need to ensure the children's safety at all times and for some of these activities, CRB or ISA Children First checks (formerly known as List 99 checks) are required.  Please see the guidance to parents and teachers below.  The school takes safeguarding the children in their care very seriously and follows the advice of the Lincolnshire Safeguarding Children Board.

Reading Buddies and Volunteers

All persons working at school, whether voluntary or paid, must have an enhanced CRB Disclosure.

Trips and Visits
All persons assisting with school trips or visits must be cleared. Teachers should also ensure that for these trips and visits they must have sufficient staff or volunteers with an enhanced CRB Disclosure available to assist with toilet trips. Those persons with only Children First clearance and who do not have an enhanced CRB Disclosure are not allowed under any circumstances to be alone with a child. Teachers should obtain a list of parents who wish to assist on a trip at least one week beforehand and bring that list to the office for clearance to be obtain.

Open Afternoons
Parents invited into the classrooms for visits (such as KS1 open afternoons) do not have to be cleared.

Classroom Projects
Parents invited into classrooms to assist with projects must be at least cleared at least at Children First level. Those parents who are working in the classroom with only Children First clearance may only work with their own child.
