This half-term, our Y1 children have been learning all about the five senses. This week, our focus was on the sense of touch. The children discovered that our skin is covered in thousands of nerve endings which send signals to the brain, allowing us to feel different textures and temperatures. To explore this further, the children investigated a range of materials using our special “feely boxes.” They were excited to describe what they felt, using some fantastic adjectives to explain each texture.
