At the beginning of this month, Mrs Beech, one of our regular reading volunteers, kindly agreed to visit our Y2 children for their history topic on 'Holidays in the 1950s'. She told the children about the one beach holiday she had as a child in the 1950s, and brought in some household objects of the time together with photographs of her as a child on her holiday. Mrs Beech also shared a picture book she had, commemorating the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. The children were fascinated, as always, listening to visitors talking about the "olden times"! #engageandinspire #prideandjoy #nurtureandgrowth
