Y5 - DT - NOV 2020
In D&T, Y5 children were set a challenge to invent something to protect astronauts if they had to escape from the ISS though a small hatch. The children developed a space umbrella which would not only open and close in space but would also act as a barrier against the light and heat of the sun. The children had to measure the lux which passes through different materials, and choose a suitable translucent material. The prototype space umbrella was constructed using paper and masking tape. The designs were then evaluated and improvements discussed. Well done Y5! #prideandjoy #engageandinspire #nurtureandgrow
