It is my privilege to welcome you to the Malcolm Sargent Primary School.
Our school aims to provide the best all round education for children. Collectively, our approach is called
“The Malcolm Sargent Way” and is centred on our three core values:
Engage & Inspire: Our pupils are inspired and motivated by the learning opportunities which have been created for them.
Nurture & Growth: Everyone seeks to improve, develop and share; not because we are not good enough, but because we can all be even better!
Pride & Joy: We take pride in our achievements and this is evident in what we do and how we do it.
My excellent staff team has very high expectations of our pupils and we are very proud of their achievements, which prepare them exceptionally well for the future. Academically, our outcomes are consistently ranked in the top 20% of high performing schools nationally. We are, however, equally proud of our emphasis on our pupils’ outstanding personal development including their behaviour, manners and attitudes.
My staff team strives to provide an exciting and engaging curriculum, rich in opportunities for children, to further their interests and expertise. Of particular note is our emphasis on music, sport, and art. Unusually, for a primary school, we are proud to be able to employ specialist staff in these areas, similar to a secondary school, and the standards we achieve in these more vocational subjects, together with the core curriculum subjects, is exceptional.
Most of all, however, we recognise that all of our children are unique; each possessing different skills and abilities. Our values help us to nurture each individual child to be happy, to achieve, and to have fun during their seven years with us. It is an honour for me to be able to serve as Principal at our school, helping each of our pupils to achieve their full potential and to grow up as happy and balanced individuals.
I hope that you find the information in our prospectus and on our website useful, but please feel free to contact us should you have any queries. I would be delighted to guide you round our school and to help you with any questions you may have.
Mr T J Revell, Principal (BSc, NPQH, Local Leader of Education)
Congratulations to some of our budding artists and photographers who have once again had a strong showing in the Rotary Club of Stamford Young Artist and Young Photographer of the Year. The theme this year was 'Beauty of Nature' and the children really answered this with some amazing compositions. Mr Jim Guthrie, Secretary of The Rotary Club of Stamford very kindly came into school today to present the children with their certificates and vouchers and was very impressed with our prize winners! #engageandinspire #prideandjoy #nurtureandgrow
Our Green Team spent a wonderful afternoon in the sun today planting seven apple trees and a pear tree on the school field, adding to our existing orchard. Thank you to the Stamford Orchard Group (SCOG) which donated the trees to us. #engageandinspire #prideandjoy #nurtureandgrow
Y5 children enjoyed their 'Focus on France' day today. They ordered French themed food from a 'pop up' café, enjoyed singing a French version of 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes', learned about Monet and painted in his style in their art class, and learned some basic conversational French. All this with Mrs Vie, a French teacher from Stamford High School who joined us with three of her 6th form students. Une excellente journée! #engageandinspire #prideandjoy #nurtureandgrow
Thank you to everyone who helped our Green Team collect a whopping 2.6kg of used stamps for CLIC Sargent. Just 1kg of stamps can help to pay for a family to stay in one of CLIC Sargent's ten "Homes from Home" located near one of their treatment centres. Every single stamp collected is going to a very worthwhile cause. Thank you.
